OSSLTPrep is an online practice testing platform designed to help Ontario secondary school students prepare for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). The platform provides practice tests, automated scoring, AI-powered writing feedback, and teacher dashboards for monitoring student progress.
Access to OSSLTPrep is provided to schools under a licensing agreement. Each school receives unique student and teacher access codes. Schools are responsible for distributing these codes to authorized users only.
Users of OSSLTPrep agree to:
Students access the platform using a school-issued password and a self-chosen nickname. Students are responsible for choosing an appropriate nickname. Teachers may view all student activity within their school.
OSSLTPrep uses artificial intelligence to provide feedback on student writing. This feedback is generated by a third-party AI service (OpenAI) and is intended as a learning aid, not a definitive assessment. AI feedback should be reviewed by teachers and may not always be accurate. Final grading of written responses is at the teacher's discretion.
All practice test content, passages, and questions are the property of OSSLTPrep. Test content may not be copied, distributed, or reproduced without written permission. Custom-generated tests are created for individual student use and are not stored permanently.
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using OSSLTPrep, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
We aim to keep OSSLTPrep available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the platform at any time. We are not liable for any disruption to educational activities caused by service downtime.
OSSLTPrep is a practice tool and does not guarantee any specific outcome on the actual OSSLT. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the platform, including but not limited to inaccurate scoring, AI feedback errors, or data loss.
Students retain full ownership and copyright of all content they create on OSSLTPrep, including essays, written responses, and creative writing. By using the platform, students grant OSSLTPrep a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process their content solely for the purpose of providing the educational service (scoring, feedback, and teacher review). OSSLTPrep does not claim ownership of student work and will never use, sell, or redistribute student content for any purpose other than delivering the service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
